Shared Memories was installed over 2 days at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston. This light/art/sound installation is a setting for a performance piece. Local communities contribute their memories and these are devised into monologues with Kali Theatre Company.
The artwork consists of over 100 mirrors which are suspended across the centre of the room creating a metaphoric beaded curtain. Lighting has been devised by Prema Mehta and the sound is local street sounds and music relevant to the stories.
With big thanks to Chris Corner, Richard Walker (credit for Photo’s) Phillip Richardson, Trevor Hurd, Andrew Steel and the Arcola team, Prema Mehta, Janet Steel and Kate Chapman for all your support and hard work to help me create this piece.
